Gas Analyzers

As you may know, there are many types of analyzers available for use in commercial applications, but one of the most useful are the gas analyzers. These devices are used for a myriad of purposes and we will examine some of those uses here.

To be clear, there are two broad categories of gas analyzers. There are those devices which are used during and after the production of certain chemicals and materials, and, then, there are those devices, often residential in nature, which are used to monitor the levels of natural gas in the air we breathe.

The second types of gas analyzers are often found in places where natural gas is present. This might be a home or it might be a much larger structure such as a factory or warehouse. Because natural gas can be deadly, knowing about a gas leak can be very important and that is what these types of gas analyzers do. They are a low cost, efficient way to monitor the atmosphere and alert occupants of possible danger.

On the production and testing side, gas analyzers are used to detect unwanted materials that may be forming or entering into a gaseous product. For example, there are gas analyzers that will look for the presence of water and CO2 in natural gas liquids. There are devices that will look for water and CO2 in LNG or in natural gas itself.

There are gas analyzers that are used to monitor the earth's atmosphere for weather purposes as well as geological purposes around volcanoes. Many types of gas analyzers are used in the manufacturing process for petrochemical substances. In addition to the gathering of initial information during the manufacturing process, gas analyzers are also used during the distribution process to monitor for delivery system efficiency as well as for safety monitoring purposes.

In addition to these somewhat bulk types of devices, there are also many gas analyzers that are used to monitor trace gases. These are considered specialty devices and they can often be fitted to monitor specific types of problem gases that may interfere with a particular system. Many of these devices are self-refurbishing, meaning that they require little maintenance. It should also be noted that they are very reliable and sensitive.

Gas analyzers, whether they are residential or commercial, are a very useful tool for monitoring those substances that we often cannot see or smell. They are especially useful in commercial applications where large amounts of product are involved.
